The Watchman Campground is very well located at the base of the canyon. We were surprised to find the pretty little town of Springdale just before it. Flush toilets, running water, this ain’t no hard camping. 🙂

Oh before I forget, the peak in the previous entry is Watchman Peak, and lends the campground its name.

It started off pretty warm in the evening, but it eventually cooled down overnight due to very high winds. Took us a while to get going in the morning, and it warmed up quite a bit during the day. We went on a few hikes, dranks oodles of water in the 100+ degree heat.

Some pics of the morning sun on zion peaks, and a desert flower.
